This is the script we are using for the continutiy task, we are going to be using different camera shots and editing techniques to achieve the best outcome for the film.
We worked well together as a group making the task. We broke the 180 degree rule but we didnt realise we did this when we were actually filming untill we watched over, we broke this by filming from left to right then right to left. For next time we will know how to make it correct. We used several shots which made the film better, we used an over the shoulder shot when Catherine was making a drink. We also used a low angle shot which shows another figure coming into the room, we thought this was effective as it shows that the figure is higher up than the character (Catherine) and shows the danger they are in. We used several close-up shots, we did it when Catherine entered the house the close-up showed her entering the house with keys. We also used the other close-up when Catherine entered the dining room and shows the figure behind her and when it is a close-up of the figures mask, we thought this worked well as it shows the effect of the masks we made.
We used a few transitions but when we got feedback on our final making of the film, our teacher didnt like it we have thought about how we could of improved it by either using better transitions or maybe using non at all. The masks we used were the main props in the filming, we based the design of it on the film 'The Stangers' as we liked the idea of the masks and the figure being unknown, we used several props such as the masks and the knife to make the film seem more effective. We used a song which we thought matched the genre of the film, we learnt from the prisoner task that we need to improve the levels of the music and to not make the music louder than the dialogue, we made sure the dialogue and the music was level which made it clear to hear both.
